Cloudy day .. We went back to the spot where we saw the tiger - TopicsExpress

Cloudy day .. We went back to the spot where we saw the tiger yesterday and found its paw marks ! Trying to figure out effective ways to dispose the oil filled debris we collected so far. Forest department has been quite helpful regardless of their bindings. Locals are doing all the cleaning work. No NGO or GO presence other than the local forest department. No real medical team yet. Only a handful of volunteers. There is a big stain for miles through both Poshur and Shela river. I suppose the forest itself is already finding ways to shed that somehow. I still like to be hopeful and look in awe at the power of nature and human beings. Bangladesh owes the people of Joymoni a big thankyou. They risked their lives to collect the oil. It may have been for the money but they were never warned of any consequences. In many cases the losses are much more than the gain. Many lost their ducks and chickens. Their fishing nets are ruined. The vessels with which they carried the oil are unusable. Many clothes are ruined. Boats are too sticky to use without still having oil all over themselves. There are still complaints like burning skin and eyes, many people got nauseous and had diarrhea during the first few days when they burnt the debris to collect extra oil. But they got it done while the rest of us were screaming save sundarban from our concrete jungle. Lets stand by them and Sundarban by helping us take this garbage out of Sundarban and dispose it in the most effective manner. All your suggestions would be much appreciated. Lets all work on expanding and softening our hearts because all the concrete is making us immobile!
