Coal Center, Pa Near California, Pa. Dont know the whole history of this, but this pier, and the one on the other side of the river, obscured by trees now, was built to accommodate a RR line that never went through. No bridge was ever built. There was another pier in the middle of the Monongahela that was removed years back to help w/ barge traffic. Now, it is part of a marina. Stop down, take a look, visit nearby Lagerheads, which this is right across from for some decent food and drink....
