Coffee and prayers this cool morning . I wanted to repost something from back in the fall as I gather my thoughts on something I want to post on later this week . I was thinking about football this weekend , of course , and I was thinking about play fakes. Everyone who knows football knows that the quarterback will often fake the handoff to a running back , while actually keeping the ball, rolling out, and passing to a receiver . Meanwhile , the linebackers , one or two at least , and some defensive linemen have focused on the running back . The defense will often all jam the line of scrimmage and appear to be ready to blitz . This will make the quarterback often change the play at the line, and then at the last second all drop back into coverage . Fakes . Deception . A game of human chess. The purpose being taking the opponents focus off of what is REALLY happening . Sun Tzu , one of the greatest warriors of all time said All warfare is deception . That is true of all warfare , especially spiritual warfare . Deception , even the slightest little seemingly harmless deception by the devil, the enemy , can be and IS harmful. There are many subtle myths that are spread about the Bible, Gods word , Gods will , the way God does things. Satan and his minions are at war with God and all mankind. Any myth , any deception , any falsehood that he can perpetrate he will . Any chance to bait us with a play fake, he will . I think one of the biggest myths that people believe is the myth that their loved ones become angels when they die . The truth is that when the saved die, they go to heaven but they do not become transformed into angels . Angels were created by God before He created man. He created a certain number of angels . And He has never added to that number . The word angel in Hebrew means messenger .We know from Gods word that Satan (Lucifer) was one of the Arc Angels . He wanted the glory that God had, and when he rebelled , he was cast out . (Ezekiel 28: 11-19)A full one third of the angles followed Satan. These are fallen angels or demons . We know that demons have certain powers . They can appear as someone friendly , someone familiar . They deceive . And so many people for some reason believe that their parents , children, or whoever , when they die, become angels . The fact is , angels can never be in the place that we are . Jesus never died for an angel . No angel is in heaven because of the blood of Christ. We are saved by the blood, forgiven by the blood. All our sins , past , present and future are forgiven when we are saved . No angel has ever experienced salvation . We are higher than the angels in Gods plan . Many believe that their loved one goes to heaven , becomes an angel, and is looking over them the rest of their life . When we believe this , we turn our focus off of God and onto that loved one. We put our faith in the protection of a loved one whom God has called home for HIS purpose . He has our loved ones in heaven to be whom He created them as, not as an angel . Take heart in this . What He has us there for is much, much better than what He has His angels doing . Yes, many believe that people become angels because of movies , stories, TV shows , or just because they dont know the truth , that we are saved by His grace , something that the angels can never have . The angels were created by God, and so were we . We have our place in His will . Jesus said The truth shall set you free. He never said that tradition , beliefs , or anything else will set us free . The enemy will use any deception . So what if some believe that ? Whats the harm ? The harm is that it is not the TRUTH. Deception , belief in that which is not true is dangerous , its deadly . The angels that rebelled were cast out of heaven forever . If angels were people at one time , it means that they died , went to heaven , became an angel, then was cast out because of rebellion . Jesus did not die and rise again for anyones sins ,see them become saved , only to see them become a demon . Once saved, always saved . Dont be upset that your saved loved one is not an angel . That loved one is in heaven with the God of creation . That loved one is experiencing a joy and peace that can come ONLY from being in the presence if God . He or she is Know the truth , know what is real . Gods truth is millions of times greater than anything that we could ever imagine . That loved one is there waiting for you . He or she will not be floating around on a cloud strumming a harp . That loved one is in a greater position than any angel . God provides angels to watch over us , yes that is true . They are His messengers . They obey God and do His will . They are not, however, to be worshiped . In fact , Paul tells us in 1 Cor 6: 3 that we will judge ( rule over) the angels in the millennial kingdom . Hebrews 1:14 tells us that the angels are to serve us who inherit salvation . Jesus even tells us in Matt 18:10 that the angels are watching the face of God, ready to obey His command to help or serve us in any way that God commands . Never go for the enemies fakes, no matter how seemingly innocent . He and He alone is worthy of our worship . Remember that truth of God is greater than anything we or the enemy can ever imagine . Have a great day everyone . till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— Ephesians 4:13-15
