Cold front has passed the area, but we were still able to enjoy a beautiful spring day with highs in the low 50s in most places. Tonight temperatures will cool down and drop into the middle 20s to low 30s. Tomorrow we will be sunny, but a little cooler with highs in the middle to upper 40s. Saturday another cold front comes through, this one a much stronger front. Before the front comes through, temperatures may be able to soar into the middle to upper 50s. Sunday we are partly cloudy and cooler with highs averaging in the middle 40s with temperatures likely staying below freezing across the area come Monday...certainly not Spring weather. Now from late in the afternoon Tuesday into Wednesday, the models are still not certain on a solution with a possible NorEaster. The GFS is showing a light snow accumulation of a coating to 2 inches while the Canadian and European models are both pointing to 4 or more inches of snow. As of right now even though 4 or more inches is certainly a disruptive snowfall, all models show the best snow just to the east of the area with Eastern Long Island, Cape Cod, and Nantucket getting an all out blizzard if the Canadian and European Models are correct. With 5 days left until the storm, models can trend further west which would set up the chances for a major Spring snowfall or further east and bring a solution like the GFS is saying. All models agree though that the best snowfall will be Tuesday Night which means the high Spring sun angle will not play a factor in limiting snow accumulations. As I said a few days ago, a lot of ingredients have to go right for the area to receive a Spring snowfall and if the storm was to track a little further west, all the ingredients will be in place especially with this being a nighttime snow. This does look like the last snow chance for this winter season unless something unforeseen happens in April so I will continue to keep you updated. Beyond that we look to stay in the 30s on Wednesday and likely on Thursday before we begin to warm up by next Friday. Have a good afternoon!
