Collies to the rescue. Collies seem to be gaining in popularity and, at the moment we have three in the kennels. Sam is stunning to behold, with a magnificent coat of glorious autumn shades that glint when the sunlight shines on his coat. This shy and timid boy probably had a horrible past and it clearly show as he is actually scared when approached but once he realises you mean no harm, quickly warms to a human touch. Brin is a collie/springer cross, this poor boy was rescued from the fast lane of the M8. Heaven only knows how he got there but can you imagine the fear and utter terror he must have felt. Heaven must have smiled on this boy on that day as a kind and compassionate man stopped to save him from certain death. Tripper is a border collie, the kind of collie everyone thinks of when the word collie is mentioned. The black and white collie so beloved by sheep farmers and the collie everyone loves to see performing in sheep trials. Collies are considered to be the smartest amongst dog breeds. Renown for their intelligence and quick ability to think, sometimes even outsmarting the people they are meant to work for. Collies make wonderful pets, they do require training but once trained, never forget and do superb at agility. Have you seen how fast they run if you have ever watched Crufts and seen the agility dogs at work? if there was an Olympics for dogs, collies would be the fastest sprinters and would, without a doubt, bring home gold for Ireland. if you are considering adopting a collie, look no further, if you are looking for a smart dog, a playful, bright as a button dog, then we have three. Please see them in our photos album and give us a ring on 087 2577182.
