Colombia TRANSFORMED Architecture = Politics Thursday, August 22 @ 5:30 Laurel Forum A talk by Vladimir Belogolovsky on his show of the same title currently up at the New York Center for Architecture. Featuring 11 socially conscious projects by six of the leading Colombian architects. The talk is free and open to the public. Vladimir Belogolovsky is the founder of New York-based Intercontinental Curatorial Project. He has published several books including Felix Novikov for the series Masters of Soviet Architecture, GreenHouse on leading sustainable projects, and Soviet Modernism: 1955-1985. Belogolovsky is the American correspondent for the Russian architectural journal TATLIN. Since 2007, he has been professor at the Moscow branch of the International Academy of Architecture. His exhibitions include the foreign section of the Russian Pavilion at the 11th Architecture Venice Biennale, a retrospective of the work of Ángel Fernández Alba at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Madrid, Spain, and the GreenHouse exhibition at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall at Moscow’s Zodchestvo-2009 International Architectural Festival. His book, Harry Seidler: The Art of Collaboration (Rizzoli) is to be released in 2014, accompanies a Harry Seidler traveling exhibition currently at the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center.
