Colorado Flood 4x4 is making another trip to Glen Haven to help - TopicsExpress

Colorado Flood 4x4 is making another trip to Glen Haven to help further the clean-up process. We are a group of groups, volunteering our skills as 4x4 enthusiasts. Everyone is welcome! Weather permitting. Glen Haven is NOT getting help to rebuild their roads from the government. It has been estimated that it will cost about 2.2 million dollars. This is a Public Event, so please share it with everyone even if you can not make it! If you can not make it, please click Maybe on the event and then Invite your friends. They are in need of a lot of help to get areas cleared of debris, cut and split fire wood and general clean-up from the flood. There is a lot more work to do now that winter has hit! The debris is causing ice dams. They are going to thaw in Spring, causing more flooding. After Spring, the slash is going to dry and become an extreme fire hazard. A 4x4 is not required to help, but is helpful. People with good attitudes willing to do what they can is what they need! GHVFD has two dump trailers that use 2 5/16 balls and 7 pin connectors. They have a splitter and some chain saws. Practice your recovery skills; winching, tow straps, chains, D-rings, High-Lifts, Pry bars and trail building. Meet other clubs and people! We will be meeting at Target (in the front parking lot) on 28th and Pearl in Boulder at 8:00 am and departing for Glen Haven promptly. The drive is approx. one hour from Target to Glen Haven so plan accordingly if you wish to attend. We generally stay in Glen Haven until around 4:00 pm but you are welcome to leave at any time. Even an hour or two helps! Since we are a group of groups, additional meet up locations may be added. https://facebook/events/764757413559219/
