Come, Let Us Worship--A Devotional for 8-28-14 The Lord is still whispering “worship” in my ear this morning. When we choose to make the time to worship Him, it is we who are filled and blessed. It is one of the reasons the enemy makes it so hard for us to “find the time” to worship. He tells us it is a “Sunday activity.” He was a worshipper—the chief worshipper and is now jealous of our worship, so anything he can do to distract us from simple, pure adoration, he will do. Simply being too busy, a Christian radio station signal not coming in clearly, “no one wants to hear THIS voice singing,” you name it—you know the reasons. It’s malarkey! He just wants to silence your voice before the King of Heaven!! Don’t listen. Hear these words today. Psalm 95:6-7 So come, let us worship: bow before Him, on your knees before God, who made us! Oh yes, He’s our God, and we’re the people He pastures, the flock He feeds.” We are invited—“come.” Let US worship. It is what we were created to do—to give Him glory. Come, bow before Him. He is worthy of our adoration. Kings and Queens and other rulers on the earth have people bow before them. How much more so the One who created the heavens and the earth—the “Owner” of it all? The One who created us and breathed His very breath into us and gave us life—yes, that very miraculous fact makes Him worthy of us being on our knees before Him. He is our God and we are His people—the flock He feeds and cares for. When we come to “visit” Him, what is our purpose? Do we come with a crisis that needs His intervention? A broken body that needs repairing? A family in disrepair that needs mending and restoration? Do we have a list that we intercede for? Or is it a rare occasion that we simply come to worship? What joy would it give the Almighty for us to enter His presence and when He inquires as to our need, that we would simply say, “I came to worship you. Just let me kneel at your feet. ” That would give me inexplicable joy. How about you? Come, let us worship. Just for a few moments. I think we can “spare” the time. Our day will be better for it, I’m sure. youtu.be/OskgHZDL2lA (Terry Macalmon “I Came to Worship You) Worshipping at His Feet, Kathy Daugherty
