Come and see our #flowering roof! The living roof of our Easton - TopicsExpress

Come and see our #flowering roof! The living roof of our Easton Collection Center is home to six Penstemon species currently in bloom. The pink penstemons are Penstemon clutei, the Sunset Crater penstemon, endemic to Arizona and found growing in cinder deposits. It is a species of concern due to its limited range, but it grows well on the Easton living roof since it is drought tolerant and likes the roofs cinder mulch. The purple penstemon is Penstemon linarioides, toadflax penstemon. It has a much broader distribution and grows in Ponderosa forests and pinyon-juniper woodlands. Cant get enough of these big-color flowering plants? Dont miss the The Arboretum at Flagstaffs 31st annual Plant Sale & Penstemon Festival July 12! bit.ly/1pKquRj #Free #Flagstaff
