“Comedy of Errors is True to The Rose” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 18 July 2014 As an historical site, it cant be matched in its relevance to what theatre was as is to our society today! Re: The performance: The Rose Theatre in Bankside, Southwark, London for The Groundlings production of Comedy! Wonderful staging! Helen Oakleigh as Dromio of Ephesus and Dromio of Syracuse was particularly fantastic and Stuart Frank as Second Merchant, Courtezan, Servant Luce, Lady Abbess and Solinus simply could not be stopped!!! Warning! Spoilers . . . I was brought onto stage, costumed and stood in for the reveal as Dromio of Ephesus. Another audience member did the same for Antipholus of Ephesus. Helen Oakleigh, as Dromio of Syracuse, guided us through the last 7 or so minutes of the show and into the dance celebration at the end. Their dance was of the period and overall style and tone was true to the spirit of The Rose and the history of theatre in Southwark. Great job Groundlings and thank you for sharing your talents with us!
