Commenting on my post of yesterday regarding Prime Ministers photo - TopicsExpress

Commenting on my post of yesterday regarding Prime Ministers photo ops in Medina, a friend has quoted from Quranic Surah, Al Imran, and others to lecture me that Umrah and Hajj are required in Islam and I should not be objecting to the two week holiday of his family and friends in Saudi Arabia. Having lived there for many years during their exile, NS and his family have done Umrah and Hajj numerous times and they had already completed Quranic requirement many times. The issue I had raised had to do with his responsibilities as the head of state of a country of two hundred million hard working people, some of whom are shown in the attached photos. The guidelines for that conduct are in the Sunnah of the Prophet, his companions, and his family members. What they said and what they did has become Islamic Law, or Sharia in accordance with the authority of Quran. Nawaz Sharif behavior is contrary to their Sunnah because his whole trip was designed for media publicity. Earning of Halal Rizq is an essential requirement to do Umrah and Hajj. My attached photos, courtesy of Dawn, give you an example of how Halal Rizq is earned in Pakistan. I grew up near Choa Saidan Shah where the coalmine is still operational and these photos were taken a couple of months ago. These workers dig coal with their pick axes inside the mine, break it up with their bare hands, and load onto donkeys to be brought to the surface. They are provided no safety equipment and they put their life at risk every day. A team of four workers, often father and sons, can dig about a ton of coal a day for which they are paid no more than ten dollars to be split among four of them. Only Allah knows whose prayers He is going to accept but the solo prayer photo tells me that the miner prays with a clear heart and he is not seeking any publicity for this. As the Nawaz Sharif government is signing billions of dollars of contracts with the Chinese and others to the benefit of their friends and family, the nation has a right to ask how they plan to ensure worker safety and guarantee their labor rights.
