To do what I say is the most powerful way I know to establish my faith and reliance on myself. By honoring my word, I exercise trusting myself and thereby reinforce my essence. When we exercise our discipline with love, we don’t go to bed early because we are forcing ourselves to, for example, but because we understand cause and effect: when we stay up late we are responsible for being tired the following day. We embrace this responsibility and do not complain—and that’s why we go to bed early with a smile.
