Commoda Kamagong and Narra ca. 19th century Probably Ilocos - TopicsExpress

Commoda Kamagong and Narra ca. 19th century Probably Ilocos Region A two-toned commoda or sideboard made of two woods -- Kamagong (the darker, almost black-colored wood) and Narra. An oversized bonnet top (characteristic of Ilocos work and quite unlike those from Bohol) with a mitered top with a floating central panel. Three smaller drawers on top of two larger drawers. The larger drawers have doors done in the Binandejera style. The top is supported by two pilaster stiles carved in the style of solomonic columns. The stiles are connected to the sideboard via two small, wooden pegs at the bottom. The whole rests on baluster feet. In excellent state of conservation. Beautiful patina throughout.
