Common Core is doing just what it is intended to do!! I am going to say this right now before anyone starts, WE ARE HOMESCHOOLING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. My child has come home in tears since she feels that she is not good enough or smart enough for school. My child has always been bright and because her birthday is in the area where you can push them up a grade or hold them back, we decided to push ahead. She is a critical thinker, organized and asks tons of questions. She does not understand why so many kids are getting these concepts and others including herself are not. She is frustrated that she cannot ask questions as freely anymore or that when it was time to ask questions the teacher stops them to watch a video to answer their questions. Math used to be her all time favorite topic but now it is the one she dreads. To her it was a puzzle, a mystery to find the answer now it is nothing but complex answers and descriptions with pie charts and bar graphs charts. As a parent I see it. I see the doubt, the crestfallen looks when bringing home a folder of mediocre grades that used to be As. This is why we are starting homeschooling, to save the inquisitive spirit that is her. I wont let this crush her but pray I can use it as a learning tool for her always to question. Though she is leaving the indoctrination camp I will not stop fighting for the others that are feeling the same way. I hope you all as parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents join me in the fight to save our kids minds and give the classroom back to our teachers. ~Liberty~
