Common Ground is proud of how our growth has positively influenced our local food economy and we want to see the positive impacts that co-ops make in communities spread to other cities and towns! Purple Porch Co-op in South Bend, Indiana is raising funds to renovate a building that they purchased earlier this year to become a full-fledged cooperatively-owned grocery store. The Purple Porch will be providing delicious, fair, sustainable, local food for the entire South Bend community. In addition to housing weekly markets that the Purple Porch has been putting on, the store will feature local and organic fruits, vegetables, meats, bulk goods, deli foods, and more.
