Community Calendar for Friday, March 14, 2014 Friday 3/14 •ECE is having a mini-powwow today at 10am at the Agency Longhouse. •Exercise Classes today in Warm Springs are : Low Impact Cardio will be held at the Family Resource Center at 10am, Senior Fitness Class is at 10:45 at the Senior Building and Functional Fitness at 12:10 in the Aerobics Room at the Community Center •Warm Springs Community Counseling is having its Talking Circle today. It is for tribal members facing unemployment to help build a support system and gain information on resources. It is from 11am to 2:30pm – meals and care baskets will be provided. •Diabetes Prevention Team is having a fun run and walk today at noon. Meet at the Voc Rehab parking lot for a walk around the loop. Water will be provided. •The Cougars Youth Basketball Tournament is next weekend in Warm Springs. There is a 16 and under boys bracket and a 13 and under co-ed bracket. Today is the deadline to enter your team. Contact Austin at the Community Center for details •The Warm Springs Shaker Church will have services this weekend. Tonight, supper followed by services will begin at 6pm. On Saturday, memorials for Richard Payne, Jr. and Clara Kennedy will begin at 10am. Sunday Services are at 10am. •Lincoln’s Pow Wow is this weekend at the Warm Springs Community Center. Grand Entries are tonight at 7, Saturday at 1 and Sunday at 1:30. •High Desert Community Theater’s performance of “The Shame of Tombstone” will be happening in Culver at the High School Auditorium this weekend and next. Free tickets are available at the Chamber in Madras & City Hall in Culver. •The Jefferson County Library Community Film Center will show “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, tonight at 7:30. Films are free and shown in the Rodriguez Annex. •A BOWLING FUNDRAISER for the MHS Senior Class of 2014 is being held tonight 9:30-11:30pm at Madras Bowl. Tickets must be purchased in advance at Madras Bowl, from Misty Adams at the high school or at Snow’s Cleaners. Saturday 3/15 •Tomorrow is the Earth 2 0 water delivery day for Simnasho and Schoolie residents. Remember to set water bottles outside. •A memorial for Lee Sorrelhorse will take place tomorrow. The stonesetting is from 8-9am with a giveaway and lunch to follow at agency longhouse. •This Saturday and Sunday, volunteers are needed to help with clean up at the Warm Springs Ball Fields. Warm Springs Nation Little League is asking for community support in getting the fields ready for the 2014 season. More events and info... The Warm Springs Boys and Girls Club “Great Futures Start Here” Annual Fundraiser is on Saturday, April 26th at Kahneeta Resort. Events include a golf scramble at 10am and then live and silent auctions, dinner, a beadwork raffle, and entertainment from 5-8pm. You can buy tickets at the Boys and Girls Club or contact June Smith at 553-2323. All proceeds benefit operations at the Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club. The Peaceful Spirit Outing – Honoring Our Wounded Warriors through Fly Fishing and Cultural Sharing is planned for June 6-8 at Lower Dry Creek.
