Community Unit School District 300 and its Board of Education invite community members to apply for one of three positions on a new and exciting committee that seeks to increase public involvement, support, awareness, and knowledge of District 300. The Board Community and Legislative Engagement Committee, organized by Board Member Steve Fiorentino, enables members to take a more active role in community education, providing opportunities for members to be involved with Board decision-making and strategic processes while empowering the community with resources, information, and opportunities related to education and District 300. Members will work to create a plan for community engagement that will include opportunities to enhance underdeveloped relationships including minority, business, and faith communities. This plan will be recommended to the Board of Education. The committee will meet once a month between October 2014 and June 2015.
