Community capacity building strategy: In order to build capacity of the community, Prantic mainly emphasizes on creating ownership among the community members. This is not just providing training. It embarks lot of things. It is difficult to identify suitable leaders unless ownership is developed among the community. Ownership develops from the perceived knowledge of benefit to be gained from the action. Prantic believes that only financial benefit may not sufficient to develop a long term ownership. In order to develop a long term-ownership among the community, benefits of action is needed to be explained clearly. If ownership can be developed among the members, it helps developing commitment among members. Higher degree of commitment leads to develop higher degree of leadership taking responsibility. In course of time, responsibility leads leaders to take new assignment that contributes to develop management and leadership skills . We call it Spiral Ladder Mechanism of Community Capacity Building.
