Como último Chefe da Missão Diplomática de Portugal na Indonésia, antes da invasão de Timor Leste [ Dezembro de 1975 ] congratulo-me com as declarações do Presidente da República da Indonésia que de uma forma clara, e direi mesmo dura, considera que os jihadistas são uma vergonha para o Islão. Trata-se de o Presidente da maior nação muçulmana do mundo, que, aliás, sempre se revelou, como tive ocasião de ver e reportar, de uma tolerância religiosa notável e de apreciar. Pelo seu peso na cena internacional certamente não deixará de influenciar o nundo islamico, o que deve ser realçado.e realçado agora, quando o IS está a cometer as mais barbaras atrocidades que o mundo tem visto. He is the President of the biggest muslim nation of the world which, as I could see by myself and reported at the time, has always been a community of a remarkable religious tolerance. Due to his weight in the international group of nations President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will certainly have a strong influence within the islamic world which has to be stressed and stressed now., when the IS is doing the most barbaric atrocities the world is watching.
