Comparative Foundation Law Analysis on Western Balkan Region Now Online A new EFC study supported by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund explores the operating environment for public-benefit foundations in the Western Balkans region. Examining the legal and tax framework for foundations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia, the study draws on data provided by local foundation law experts in each of the countries surveyed, including BCSDN, and presents a comparative analysis undertaken by the European Center for Not-for-profit Law. Recommendations for policy and law reform are set out. This study builds on the EFC’s work to map and analyse the legal and fiscal framework for foundations and to promote an enabling environment for philanthropy across the European Union and beyond.
