Comparative verses between the Quran and the Bible on: MODESTY OF DRESS IN WOMEN & GIRLS This is an interesting topic in the world today, especially in the West where lesser societal constraint place 100% responsibility of how you value yourself on the INDIVIDUALs choice of dress. There is a wide open choice of what you will see and what you will show in the West. In the world of Islam there is a debate across the spectrum of women choosing to dress according to their own souls testimony of God and dressing by societys expectations. What do you think? Here are what some of the scriptures say: Prophet Mohammad “Modesty is from the faith, and the faith is in Paradise.” 1 Timothy 2:9 - In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. Quran, 33:35 For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Gods praise,- for them has God prepared forgiveness and great reward. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Quran 24:30,31 Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty......And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms.... Proverbs 31:30 - Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Proverbs 11:22 - [As] a jewel of gold in a swines snout, [so is] a fair woman which is without discretion.
