This makes it easy to see that the country is divided between the rural and urban populations. It seem our ideology either decides where we will live, or where we live dictates our ideology. It is the city folks, by far, that support the Progressive drive for a bigger more intrusive federal government. While it is the country folks who resist the increasing power and taxation if the federal government and support the TEA Party goals. This is also true in Rowan County, with Salisbury being a Democratic enclave in a Republican county. And for North Carolina as a whole, with the cities: Raleigh, Winston/Salem, Charlotte, Asheville, and the part bordering Virginia strongly supporting the Demos, with the rest of the state going to the Repubs. That the vote were so close in many if the returns is because of the high concentration of people in cities. Now the question is, why are city people so strongly tend to the Progressive point of view, while the country folks lean Libertarian?
