Concerning events that are dominating the news; I personally hold the corporate news media responsible for fanning these flames of racial mistrust and social injustice. The corporate news media has successfully created a very “real” reality show. A reality show that likely has more attention than anything during regular prime time programming. It has become an international success. The casting was fantastic! A white man named “Wilson” and a black man named “Brown”. The location is great! St. Louis! The Gateway to the West! The Heartland of America! In a semi-suburban, mostly black community that is very close in proximity to communities that are mostly white. The plot thickens It’s no coincidence that this story was chosen over all the other stories around the country that take place on a daily basis. Black person kills black person? Not news! Black person kills white person? Not news! White person kills white person? Not news! This script was just too perfect to pass up. Guess what! They are getting ratings! Ratings that improve their profitability! It’s like printing money. Would national news media companies do such a thing? It would seem that the news media has learned a profitable lesson from our government. War and violence is a lucrative business to be in. Stir-up trouble and then sit back and reap the rewards of the death and destruction. We have all become unwilling “extras” in this reality show where the actors at center stage have been manipulated by the producers and directors to behave in a way that attracts the most viewers. The American public is once again an oblivious victim of corporate greed. Sadly, the names and places have NOT been changed to protect those involved. A man died and the other man’s life will never be the same. Families and communities will feel the impact for years to come. This plot is a true story, not just “based on a true story”.
