*Confession 006 This letter was addressed to *NAME OMITTED* Sir/Mam on 5th September in the interest of both students, and his/her. Iv tried my best to make this a non-defamatory one as I have extreme respect for him/her but some issues regarding his/her manner of teaching (even if it is, please do not bring this to the attention of Sir/mam). :) Hello sir/mam, This is a letter to you from a concerned student of USLLS. Mentioned below are the broad opinions largely held by the majority of USLLS against you. 1. The majority of USLLS thinks that you are inept when it comes to teaching any subject. 2. The majority of USLLS thinks that you are highly ineffectual when it comes to managing the class. 3. The majority of USLLS thinks that you appear to be a thoughtful, eager, and diligent person. However, you tend to rush up the subject that you are teaching at such a pace that EVERYTIME it becomes IMPOSSIBLE even for the first benchers to get hold of what you are saying. Sir/mam, kindly take note that this letter is not even remotely aimed to defame/ discredit/ disgrace or malign your image in any possible manner what-so-ever. That is the reason that it has been delivered to your room. The only objective is to make you aware and realize as to what the students feel and think about you teaching in the class. Sir/mam, you being a teacher, I believe that you must be aware as to what students think about you and your teaching style. Infact, it is in your favour, totally. Sir/mam, the issues that I have mentioned here will never be told to you by the students openly. You see, this is the difference between us and some other University, say Delhi University. They would have openly protested against you in the entire campus. But what USLLS does it to solve issues by amicable putting forward our grievances, which I am trying to do in this letter. Sir/mam, a good teacher is not one who teaches a lot, or who is never late for the class. A good teacher creates willingness in his students to delve into the subject and to explore it more and more. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires”. (William Arthur Ward) With all due respect Sir/mam, you seem to have skipped or ignored the “inspiring” part of the process of teaching in your approach. Sir/mam, this is the time when you MUST bring some much needed changes in your method of teaching. It is humble submitted that your pace and method of teaching is not at all compatible with our level of intellect and understanding. All this time, we have been struggling to get hold of the concepts that you strive to teach us in the classroom, our such struggle and efforts sadly neutralized by your way of teaching. Among all the other faculty members and students, Sir/mam you are the one who has received this letter this time. This in itself has a meaning- That it is you who is at fault this time, not the students. Sir/mam, writing this letter will never belittle the respect that I or USLLS has for you. We appreciate your contribution towards the academic as well as extra-curricular activities. However, such contributions will not nullify certain imperfections that you suffer from as a teacher. Lastly, it is irrational to discuss this letter in the classroom or in the staff room. This letter has been delivered to your room, which means that I did not intend to send it anywhere else, and that I wanted you and only you to read this, because in the end it is only you who can rectify that what needs to be rectified.
