Confession #5565 A lot of these North East Indians who travel into the mainstream India are adolescents or in their late teens. Adolescence has its own problems. A teen aged boy or girl far away from home in a different culture with entirely different lifestyle and food habits is already pressurized. Along with this when they have to face taboos, it hurts them. Seeking comfort of familiarity, they form groups and eventually isolate themselves which invites more problems for themselves. Although not all North Easterners do this and there are a lot of main stream Indians who are wise enough to look beyond these taboos, unfortunately they still exist.
