Confession time: Before we embraced feeding with trust, I - TopicsExpress

Confession time: Before we embraced feeding with trust, I asked TJ how much money it would take to convince him to try a food of my choosing. One billion hundred thousand zillion dollars. I have no idea how many zeros were talking, but it sounds like an awful lot of money. Last week, we had our adopted daycare kid, Turbo, with us. Turbo loves pineapple. TJ has had pineapple before - a long time ago - and really loved it, but its been off list for years. I said Ill give you $5 if you just lick a piece. SE considers it for a moment and counters with $10 Two things: 1) if I had agreed to $10, the onus is on him to agree to the terms of our deal. By holding at $5, I gave him the option to win with a financial bonus, or decline without making it about the food. 2) $10, comparatively, is a huge bargain. TJ has his own reasons for not eating pineapple, and Im really okay with whatever those reasons may be. Progress doesnt always look like a new food on the menu.
