Confession time: I just left the school where I snapped a few photos of my beautiful angel and her friends enjoying the last day of high school. I cant adequately communicate the emotions overtaking me. Hope, pride, love - all balled up inside with tears streaming. Where do the years go? Today; a milestone. Experiencing feelings presenting as a dichotomy again -- looking back, I wouldnt change a thing. But then, you always hope you did enough expressed enough shared enough for the love felt so deep and endless. Most who are parents - get it. Today, I want to tell you McKenna Walters how beautiful you are, how proud I am and how excited I am for your future as life unfolds for you. In your 18 years, you have already accomplished so much - but my pride today stems from my constant prodding for you to push yourself to be your best, reach, strive outside of your comfort zone. That is when growth occurs. You have taken that baton and run with it. Your accomplishments dont mean near as much to me as your willingness to try your best -- the outcome; isnt nearly as important - and today bittersweet. One door closes -- another opens. The world; your oyster. I love you.
