Congrats to my mom Sylvia Lockett! After 36 years of dedication to the children of St. Mary and Monroe City School system she is finally retiring! She has taught, served as instructional specialist at Many schools in this parish and most recently served as principal of J. A Hernandez Elementary for 18 years. She has also been asked to serve as the Grand Marshal of the Boat Parade sponsored by the ladies of AKA. This event will take place Sat. June 28, 2014 at 10:00 am, at the Baldwin Park. If she touched your life in anyway, please come out and support her being selected as Grand Marshal.
