Congratulations Nalanda Sainik School, Rajgir Maintaining the tradition of good performances in board exams and admissions to defence academies, the cadets of Nalanda Sainik School, Rajgir, have, once again, earned laurels for their school as 34 of them have cleared the written test of National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) tests, conducted by the UPSC in September last year. Based on the performance at interviews, the recruited cadets will be sent to defence academies to be groomed as officers in armed forces, said school principal Captain A K Mishra. He said, The credit of all this goes to the dedicated teachers, who relentlessly work to ensure that every cadet admitted to the school is properly groomed both in terms of academic excellence and also in being a good citizen of the country. He said the periodic tests of the cadets also immensely helped them reach this point and added that the cadets will be properly assisted for the final round as well. Mishra said 34 cadets qualifying for the interview, his school is only behind Sainik School, Ghorakhal, Nainital, and Korokonda Sainik School, AP, from where 37 and 35 cadets respectively cleared the prestigious test, among all 25 Sainik schools across the country. The second youngest of all Sainik schools across the country after Ambikapur, Nalanda Sainik school, Rajgir, was conferred with Raksha Mantri Trophy for sending highest percentage of Class XII students to National Defence Academy(NDA) and Naval Academy(NA) as its 45 cadets joined the prestigious institutions from the first four batches . Besides 195 meritorious cadets from Classes VIII to XII were selected for the prestigious NTSC/NMMS scholarships. Since the first batch of its students appeared at the secondary examination in 2007, Nalanda Sainik School, Rajgir, has been awarded prestigious Merit Certificate for five years including three in a row for the outstanding performance of its cadets (students) at the All India Secondary Examination conducted by CBSE including academic session 2013-14.
