Congratulations to Lt. Ronald Crone. After 25 years of service to the community, Lt. Crone will be hanging up his helmet and radio to enjoy the good life of retirement. Lt. Crone began his fire services career as a volunteer with the Erlanger Fire/EMS department in 1989 and in February of 1995 he joined the Independence Fire District as a career FF/EMT. Ron worked his way up and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2005. In April 2006, Lt Crone was stationed at Company 3 as shift Lieutenant where he has served ever since. One of Lt. Crone’s most memorable moments was a fire on the corner of Oliver Rd and Don Victor Dr. A log cabin house was on fire in sub freezing temperatures and everyone was literally covered in ice from head to toe. Ron is going to miss his second family as he retires saying the comradery of his family and the unknown of what the next call may bring is what he will miss the most. Ron leaves IFD but looks forward to spending time with his wife Nancy of 14 years and their dog Ravine. Ron and Nancy have many travel plans in mind for the near future. Thank you Lt. Ron Crone for your service! Your family will miss you and we wish you safe travels.
