Congratulations to full-time student Sabina Chopra and part-time - TopicsExpress

Congratulations to full-time student Sabina Chopra and part-time day student Esther Lin, whose hard work through the Childrens Rights Clinic earned a significant victory on behalf of their client. They appealed the decision to expel a seventh grade student with unaddressed special needs due to an incident with broken piece of a pencil sharpener, which was considered a weapon, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education reversed the decision. While we all recognize that his behavior was wrong, the punishment did not fit the crime, said Professor Julie Waterstone, Director of the Childrens Rights Clinic. This childs educational career path has been altered as a result of Sabina and Esthers hard work, and he will receive the supports and services that he has needed for many years.
