Congratulations to our Technology Student Association (TSA) scholars at Rowan Middle School and Murrah High School! Both school teams have earned the honor to compete in the National TSA Conference this summer following their outstanding success at the recent state competition! Rowan Middle School’s team brought home the following state awards: • Web Design, 1st place • Agriculture and Biotechnology Design, 2nd place • Environmental Focus, 3rd place • Medical Technology Issues, 3rd place Murrah High School’s team are state champions in the Chapter team competition, 3rd place in Webpage design and state finalists in the On Demand Video competition. The National TSA Conference will be held in Washington, D.C., on June 26–July 1, 2014. Expenses for the two schools, including the 28 qualifying students and chaperons, to attend the conference total more than $26,000. The two schools are both planning fundraising events as well as accepting donations to ensure these deserving students get a chance to compete on the national level. Both TSA chapters are networking together to make this trip a reality, not a dream for our students, said Rowan Principal Dr. Shimelle Mayers.
