Congratulations to the Alvord Bulldogs (Class 2A) and the Rochelle Hornets (1A) for being selected Army Strong Teams of the Week in Week 11. Led by a ferocious defense, the Bulldogs shut down Bells’ potent passing attack to earn a 51-18 win and the District 5-2A DI title in coach Pete Hart’s first season at the helm. Meanwhile, the Hornets clinched the District 12-1A DI championship with a dominating 70-22 victory over Eden. Each week, TexasFootball and the U.S. Army join together to select one team from every classification in high school football that demonstrates the qualities exhibited within the Army. Those include leadership, commitment to excellence and a desire to make a difference as a member of a team. Each team is awarded the Army Strong Team of the Week by local officials from the U.S. Army at a school assembly or pep rally.
