Congratulations to the new part time CCAs that were hired last April. I was looking at our Letter Carrier successful Bid sheet today. I saw quite a Few people, with an effective hire date of 11-2-13, that successfully bid to their own routes. The only way they could have gotten their own route, was that they were converted to full time. A little more than 6 months, to full benefits, including health insurance, pension, paid vacations, sick leave, Etc. Unemployed or under employed people, dont be so quick to turn down a job offer, just because it starts off as part time. Dont look a gift horse in the mouth. Had those 150+ people not stepped out in faith, they would not have jobs that are guaranteed to be paying a minimum of $27 per hour, in 12.5 years. A lot of Employers want to start you off at part time, so they can see how well you work out. They dont want to get stuck with bad workers. I always tell people to at least get your feet in some Companys door. Then, the sky is the limit. Good luck with your job hunt.
