Congratulations to the organising committee of the Alpaca Association New Zealand 2014 National Show and Expo for hosting a wonderful event. A big thank you also to our mentors, Team Supreme ( Oak Ridge Alpacas and Waikara Park Alpacas - Martin Bennett , Debbie Wallace and Brendon Taylor ) for their great support and encouragement. For new breeders we had a sensational show with a great start when Oak Ridge Ayla continued her Junior years success with a 1st placing in the Junior Female Light Fawn fleece class, continuing on to 1st placing in the Junior Female Huacaya Fleece, then Best Light Fawn Fleece, culminating in winning Supreme Champion Huacaya Fleece. She then went on to a 3rd placing in he Intermediate female Light Fawn Breed event. Her stablemate, Oakridge Ascolana placed 4th in the Intermediate Female Mid/Dark Fawn Breed event. Our real star, the result of an inspired mating with our female Oak Ridge Maeve and sire Oak Ridge Oliver, High Chaparral Aztec Warrior placed 1st in the Junior Male Brown Huacaya Breed event, continuing on to win Champion Junior Male Huacaya, and then Reserve Champion Brown Huacaya.
