Congressman Keith Rothfus and his fellow extremists just voted to cut 40 billion dollars from the food assistance program. This vote will deny life sustaining food assistance to 4 million American families while providing no relief to our nation’s financial woes. Here is how this vote will affect the voters of Mr. Rothfus’s district: 1) Over half of the families affected have one or more disabled persons in their household 2) Nearly half of families have one or more children in the home and 3) Over a quarter of recipients are seniors. Nationally, Congressman Rothfus just voted to cut food assistance for 170,000 veterans. This vote is an embarrassment to the 12th Congressional district and our most vulnerable neighbors, friends and loved ones. Any vote that denies life sustaining food to children, seniors, the disabled and veterans is not pro-life, not Christian and not befitting the United States of America.
