Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:3 NIV). As we close in on the Christmas season, let us reflect on why Jesus was sent to us. His purpose to exist was the sacrifice of Himself for our sins. It was a one-time deal unlike the continuos sacrifices needed under the old covenant. He took every sin ever committed and every one from that point forward so salvation could reign supreme. He came as perfection born by perfection and lived a life of perfection struggling against the forces of evil and rejecting them at every turn. He fought sin so we would have that path to defeat it. His blood flowed so our sins could be washed from existence. He was made dirty so we would shine clean. He stood tall so we would never have to. He asked us to lay our burden upon Him so we would never be tired navigating through a world trying to steal our soul. Satan wants our heart and tempts us in the most subtle ways. However, Christ indwelling in us keeps us focused on Him and not the pleasures of this world. So lets not only remember our Savior as we celebrate the season, but lets remember each and every day through prayer, study of the Word, and obedience to Him what He truly is in our lives. Lets never grow weary or lose heart. Praise Jesus!!!!
