Considering all the wonderful and amazing things that have - TopicsExpress

Considering all the wonderful and amazing things that have happened during my life span, I dont believe in coincidence in the least, and take full advantage of synchronistic events... When I was writing The Book Of Wind last year, I had no idea when, or if there would be a U.S. release date for The Wind Rises by Hayao Miyazaki. For that matter, I didnt even know the title of the film at the time; I happened to come by an article discussing the harsh criticism of one of my favorite animators by his fellow countrymen. I dedicated a few lines to commending the bravery of Miyazaki in making a film themed around the creator of the planes used in the Japanese kamikaze attacks of WWII--a subject that is still fairly taboo in Japan. I chose to include a mention of this film because the word kamikaze translates literally to divine wind or wind of the gods. I go further to discuss the transformative impact this film may have on peoples perception and attitudes toward the events around which the film is based. It wasnt until today that I discovered that the English title is The The Wind Rises and that it will be released 2/28/14 nationwide, 5 days before the release date of The Book of Wind on 3/5/14. Five is a number I frequently associate with Wind as it is the total of the numerical values associated with the letters in Wind (W=5, I=9, N=5, D=4. 5+9+5+4=23, 2+3=5). Five is an appropriate number to associate with Wind as it is a number of change and transition, which are also central themes in The Book of Wind. I originally chose 3/5/14 as it is the first Windsday of March. Now, this day holds more significance for me and what I plan to do with the Wind Temple of Universal Life. From what I hear, this will be Miyazakis last piece before retiring. To commemorate this masterpiece and his complete body of work that has inspired me and so many others, I will give a free digital copy of The Book of Wind (Kindle compatible) to anyone who posts a picture on FB or Twitter of them holding their ticket stub for The Wind Rises.
