‘Constable: The Making of a Master’ has been on at the Victoria & Albert Museum for one month. You have until 11th January to see it, and we’re eager to hear your thoughts on the exhibition. vam.ac.uk/content/exhibitions/exhibition-constable-the-making-of-a-master/ In December 2013 we published an article on a previously unknown oil sketch, discovered during the preparation of the exhibition, on the reverse of Constable’s ‘Branch Hill Pond: Hampstead’ (1821–22). The discovery is featured in the exhibition, and you can read more about it by purchasing the article here: [insert link] In our April 2013 issue an article by Peter Harrap and Shan Lancaster identified the house rented by Constable in Brighton in 1824 and 1828, from which the artist produced numerous studies. This led to a blue plaque being put up outside the house in the summer of 2013. Add the article to your reading for the Constable season by buying it here: burlington.org.uk/archive/back-issues/201410
