Cont from last post: 6. Abul-Hasan Ali ibn Nafi, b. 789, nickname Ziryab, Iraq. He was the first to manufacture crystal glass to hold drinks which were improved by Ibn Firnas. The innovator , ibn Firnas made some kind of rude planetarium where people could see artificial stars , clouds, lightening and hear cloud’s thunder. 7. Abu Abdallah Muhammad ibn Jabir al-Harrani al-Battani (Albatenius), 858-929, born in Turkey, died in Syria. He described the basic funcation of trigonometry, sine, cosine and tangent. Earlier 830, Al Marwazi produced the first table of cotangents. 8. Musa Al-khwarizmi produced accurate sine and cosine tables and the first table of tangents in 9thc. the Indian numbers reached the west through him. 9. Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi, 936-1013, was the father and founder of rational surgery. 10. Ammar ibn Ali al-Mawsili, Mosul, Iraq invented first hollow hypodermic needle and injection syringe in 1000. Ibn ali also removed eye cataract successfully.
