Container Truck drivers reach deal to end strike at Port Metro Vancouver container terminals depots. After PMV played the heavy-handed ultimatums + threats to cancel truck drivers permits to access PMV terminals + BC Libs Govt enacted back to work legislation this past Mon/Tue in BC Legislature, theyve reached a deal. Had the Port Metro Van official behalf container terminal operators negotiated with union/non-union truckers fairly, openly, transparently from get-go all this animosity, lost business, accruing delays + expenses, bad PR...could have been avoided. Note PMV treats the public concerns with new projects proposals, terminal expansions, environment concerns with same degree of indifference + disdain! quote: B.C. will now abandon its back-to-work legislation for the 250 unionized truckers represented by Unifor. You shouldnt have a fight if you can get a deal, said Clark. We got a deal instead and were delighted by it. The outcome is an outcome wed been looking for all along, said Dias. Its not just a solution for the short term, its a solution for the long term. unquote vancouversun/story_print.html?id=9665832&sponsor=
