Contd from 22-01-13........ E- Satsang members missed out all our previous postings can read them in my timeline.... Excerpts from a discourse and Beautiful answers by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji and Swami Papa Ramadas for SCHOOL STUDENTS - CHECK OUT......... 1. To secure high percentage of marks one should develop concentration. Only if you have one-pointed mind can you achieve anything either in worldly or spiritual life. Great scientists like Einstein, Newton had one-pointed mind. They channelised all their energy in one direction and that is the reason for their success in their field. You should listen attentively to what is being taught in class. Swami Vivekananda used to say that it is better to play football than practice meditation, for, at play your whole mind is diverted to the movement of the ball. This deepens your concentration. Chanting a single Divine Name of the Lord (Eka Nama) helps the chanter deepen his concentration and also helps in sustaining the chanting for long hours effortlessly. ----------------------------------- 2. While you concentrate on your studies and prepare yourself for your future, you also need Gods grace ----------------------------------- 3. As a student, is it important to focus on studies or should one be more devoted towards God? Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji: There should be an balanced mix of both. While you concentrate on your studies and prepare yourself for your future, you also need Gods grace. The simplest way to invoke Gods grace is by chanting the Mahamantra whenever you have time. So, chant the Mahamantra regularly in the mornings and evenings along with your regular prayers, and concentrate well on your studies. -------------------------------- 4.Do you believe in attaining union with God by concentration on Him or by just chanting His name? Swami Papa Ramdas : Chanting His name is done to achieve concentration. !!!
