Continuing thoughts on this day of reminiscing.... After my salvation and marriage to Deb, the doctrine that I believe to be Bible truth has provided me a foundation on which to stand through these years. The foundation of my faith is the written words of God. Early in my Christian life, in spite of some of the instruction I received, I came to believe that I held in my hands the inspired words of God perfectly preserved without error in the Authorized Version - King James Bible. What began as an act of faith became a studied conclusion/conviction. As a direct result of that conviction, I came to understand that God told different people different things at different times. I call this progressive revelation and dispensational truth. The Bible term for this understanding of Scripture is called. rightly dividing; 2 Timothy 2:15. Distinguishing the difference between prophecy and mystery, law and grace, the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of grace, the earthly ministry of Christ with/through the 12 apostles and the resurrected ministry of Christ through Paul, has been the focus of my teaching for many years now. Over these years Ive come to understand that all of Gods words are for us, but not all of Gods words are to us or about us. It is in the epistles of Paul, Romans through Philemon, that we find the doctrine to us in this dispensation of grace. Yes, Im thankful to have Gods perfectly preserved inspired words to study and teach. Im also thankful to have an understanding of the unique dispensation in which we now live, the dispensation of the grace of God. Indeed, God has been good to me...
