Copied without permission from The Paris News: Turkey and family bonding are on the brain, but for some it’s a struggle of how they will provide that turkey this holiday season. Christians in Action is making a call for time and cans and non-perishable food items to make sure everyone has a joyous holiday as it adds a grocery store to the annual Thanksgiving dinner for the needy on Nov. 25. “The dinner is basically the same as last year. It’s a true community effort. The hospital is providing the food. Paris Coffee is providing coffee,” coordinator Melissa Wickersham said. “I just thought it’s the season of giving and these people should be able to leave with something.” Fresh fruit has been given for the cause by an anonymous donor, and The Paris News is sponsoring a children’s craft corner, but Wickersham would also allow patrons to shop for needed items. “How much they get all depends on how much we get,” she said.
