Just wanted to share smth I learnt in class that I think is very beneficial.. 7 things to have when u study : 1. Righteous and firm intentions. Make as many Righteous intentions as possible whenever attending a class or beginning to memorise or study, you will get rewarded for every single intention. And have truthfulness and conviction in your intentions because Allah can make it translate even before its time. Eg, one intention would be u are studying so that u can bring up good kids, so Allah can already give guidance to ur kids who are still in ur eggs. Or, you intend to rectify ur heart, so even before u finish studying the book, Allah removes diseases from ur heart. 2. Siwak. Siwak is a must-have for those studying. It is considered unbecoming for those who are attending classes of Islamic knowledge not to Siwak before that. There are more than 70 benefits of Siwak, of which is that it expands ur memory, increases and quickens understanding, and it makes the shahadah easy on ur tongue at the point of death. Here, they siwak before every single dars. 3. Taubah and istighfar a lot. Do this a lot. If u cannot focus while doing it during class, den do it on the way to class or during breaks. Sin is the biggest cause of knowledge leaving a person. This is especially so with learning Quran. The Quran does not sit in the heart of an unrepentant sinner. 4. Selawat a lot This opens doors to Rasulullah s.a.w, and Rasulullah s.a.w is the one thru whom all knowledge from Allah reaches us. 5. Wudhu Angels love gatherings of knowledge and they love people who are in the pure state of wudhu. So they will especially gather close to those with wudhu and they will be doing ur istighfar for u =) and the barakah of wudhu is numerous.. It is the shield of the believer so as far as possible, try to stay in wudhu. of course, if u break ur wudhu during class, if leaving to renew it would make u miss part of the lesson, then wait till the break. For those in menses or hv gas problems, have a strong niat that if u were not in such a state you would definitely be in wudhu and u will get what u intend inshaallah. 6. Cover ur aurat well. Angels dislike uncovered aurat.. They are shy creatures of Allah and will shy away from someone who exposes her aurat on purpose. Here, we are taught to even cover our aurat fully when ur studying at home alone. Out of respect for knowledge and the angels around. 7. Husnu dhoon with Allah and the creation of Allah Have a high opinion of Allah that He can grant knowledge to whomsoever He wills, and hv a good opinion of ur teachers and of those in the class.
