Corduroy and Jimmy made the cat banner. YaY! Got some of my DNA results from 23andMe. Some were different from the ones I got from Ancestry -- the Jews stayed in but a lower percentage. Irish and Scandinavians went AWOL (awww!). Yakut came in. French and German came in. More Balkan, Middle Eastern, etc. Very little Italian--which is surprising. Best part of the result was 3.2 Neanderthal! You wonder WHY I love hairy guys who are short and have big noses? Wonder no more. Its my cavewoman DNA. There is some more analysis for them to do. I hope the Irish and the Scandinavians come back. Not sure which one to believe--the Ancestry one or the 23andMe one. Have to check out the sizes of their database. Or, worse, do the Genographic Projects GENO 2 and then average them all out. LOL. I do think I have the wee drop of Irish and bit of Scandinavian. More Jewish I think too. HAS to be more Italian!!! Im 1/4 Sicilian (grossly measured from my grandparents points of origin). I am also part Yakut. Love that one. The Neanderthal, compared to the rest of the 23andMe sample was very high--99th percentile. No wonder I devoured Jean Auels books! I love anything to do with Neanderthals. Dunno why. They were patriarchical and I am not. But I just love the whole way they adapted to the environment and I thought it was sad that they were wiped out. Glad to know that SOME of their DNA survives and that I carry a bit of it in me. OK, next topic. HUGGGE Blizzard expected. Rats I had my appt with my pain doc on Tuesday and have to cancel in. No way are the roads gonna be OK with 3 ft of snow on them on Tuesday. OY.
