Corporate Support Officers Tel 01354 654321 [email protected] John Elworthy [email protected] Our ref: FOI 2219 8 August 2013 Dear Mr Elworthy Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Information Request No: 2219 I acknowledge your request for information received on 30 July 2013. Your request for information has been processed and the information requested is shown below: 1: Could I be sent full copies of all reports associated with any meetings held in the past 18 months by the Fenland Strategic Partnership In the last 18 months, meetings of the Fenland Strategic Partnership have been as follows: 5 December 2011 26 September 2012 13 May 2013 The FSP reduced the frequency of its meeting following an in depth review of its operations, which was agreed by the FSP Board on 8 September 2011. This review recognised the importance of the FSP in providing an opportunity for partners to work collaboratively on issues important to Fenland residents whilst recognising a reduction in partner capacity due to central government cuts in funding. The FSP moved to a new model of working whereby the partnership now meets twice a year; once to agree a series of core priorities for collaborative delivery and a second time to feedback on progress mid way through the year. These meetings are stakeholder events, rather than Board meetings and as a result of this change in model, formal reports have not been issued, however booklets or presentations have been available to support the priority setting and feedback events, highlighting progress against priorities. The first stakeholder event took place on 5 December 2011. Unfortunately, this meeting was not publicised via our usual procedures on our website. We have now corrected this error and uploaded the agenda and supporting booklet for this event. In future, as well as the agenda for the meeting, we will upload supporting materials to the FDC website as soon as they are available. We will also do this for the second stakeholder event held on 13 May 2013. You will find the updated pages at fenland.gov.uk/egenda/kab71.pl?cmte=FSP Then click on the specific meeting date to view the relevant documents. We have also updated the information relating to the FSP on another part of the website which currently stores the partnership newsletter. fenland.gov.uk/article/1785/Fenland-Strategic-Partnership The links to the webpages above will be fully updated tomorrow as it publishes overnight. 2: Could I ask why a decision to make these reports not readily available was made and by whom No reports had been written for the meetings held in the previous 18 months. As mentioned above, supporting materials setting out potential key priorities and progress against priorities will be uploaded to the website for future events when they are available. 3: How much does FDC put aside each year by way of budgetary provision for this organisation There is no budgetary provision for the FSP. Meetings are generally held within FDC buildings at no cost. 4: What is the structure of the partnership, ie does it have any decision making powers The FSP is made up of a number of different stakeholders (set out below). Stakeholders come together twice a year to agree and review priorities and an officer group coordinates delivery of these priorities. The role of the FSP is for stakeholders to agree areas of collaborative action for the benefit of Fenland residents. The FSP does not have any formal or statutory decision making powers, however partners accept that by working together on issues important to Fenland residents, we are able to achieve more effective outcomes for Fenland residents given the past three years of significant budget reductions. 5: A meeting of this partnership on May 13th at FDC offered a list of members: is this current? The membership list cited is not a current list and we will update this on the FDC website. A current list of FSP stakeholder organisations as of August 2013 is as follows. This will include both elected member representation and officer representation: Fenland District Council Cambridgeshire County Council Cambridgeshire Constabulary Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service Age UK CWA CPALC Fenland Partnership for Schools Cambridgeshire Acre Job Centre Plus Roddons Housing Association Wisbech Interfaith Forum Fenland CVS Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce Fenland Chamber of Commerce Local Commissioning Group If you require any further information regarding your request, you should contact the Corporate Support Officers at Fenland District Council or e-mail [email protected].
