Correct color balance is essential if you want your photographs to go to the next level. All digital cameras (most is probably a better description) have some method to get the camera to be color correct. Settings like auto, daylight, shade, fluorescent, tungsten, etc although helpful are not exact (for example daylight color changes throughout the day) A better option is to balance with photo gray card, a photo white card or something like I use, a photovision 3 color disk which has a gray panel, a white panel and a black panel. I simply take a photo of the disk and tell the camera that the photo is the correct color setting - the camera then adjusts its color balance so that the white is white , the gray is 18% gray (approx.) and the black is black. Note: different cameras have different ways to set the values for this custom white balance (check your camera manual as to the method)
