Corridors of Power: Kiharu MP Kangata Irungu had a hard time accessing Parliament Buildings yesterday after the security personnel manning the main entrance failed to recognize him. It took the intervention of a receptionist to save the situation after the MP demanded the receptionist to be called to come and identify him. It seems the security personnel could not easily identify the MP as he was dressed casually —in a sweater and open-shirt instead of the tie and suit that is the acceptable dress cord for MPs. The fact that he was driving a small car— a Toyota Vitz— and not the usual fuel guzzling SUVs that most MPs are associated with may also have confused the security personnel at the gate who mistook him for a raia!
