Could not have said it better James Morley best pub venue in Sydney in my opinion - Damn, this place was an awesome live venue and its another one biting the dust. It seems NSW is following WA and just dying out live bands. I saw an article recently that summed it up in regards to the state of music, it explained how the current generation of kids has killed an entire industry with their cheap efforts at overnight fleeting talentless grasps at fame. The internet, non-reality reality tv and a dumbed down serve of entertainers with little or no talent are all a huge part of a once integral part of Australian culture. The poor bands today will never get the awesome feeling of playing to thousands of people a week on a regular basis , and making a solid living like so many of us musos experienced in Perth. I was invited to play at this show, I didnt realise it was going to be the last one at selinas Awesome venue to play at .... Very Sad. End of an era as Coogee Bay Hotel’s Selina’s closes it’s doors for complete makeover In February 1992 more than one million people went to the Coogee Bay Hotel.
